Sosyolojik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131n verileriyle de uyumlu olarak, \u00c7ingeneler edebiyat eserlerinde \u00f6tekile\u015ftirilmi\u015f ve yoksul bir alt k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn egemen oldu\u011fu bir hayat\u0131n i\u00e7inde g\u00f6sterilmi\u015flerdir. Yap\u0131lan edebiyat ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 pop\u00fcler k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn ve romantik bak\u0131\u015f\u0131n etkisiyle \u00e7o\u011fu zaman a\u015fk ve e\u011flence hayat\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6zneleri konumundaki yeti\u015fkin ba\u015fkarakterlere odaklanm\u0131\u015f ve \u00e7ocuk karakterleri ihmal etmi\u015ftir. Oysa b\u00fct\u00fcn d\u00fcnyada toplumsal alt s\u0131n\u0131flar ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrlerle ilgilenen maduniyet \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n kad\u0131nlarla beraber en \u00f6nemli inceleme grubunu olu\u015fturan \u00e7ocuklar\u0131n, h\u00e2lihaz\u0131rda toplumsal ayr\u0131mc\u0131l\u0131ktan mustarip \u00c7ingeneler s\u00f6z konusu oldu\u011funda bir kat daha ma\u011fdur bir grup olarak ortaya \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. Toplumun \u00c7ingenelere yukar\u0131dan bak\u0131\u015f\u0131na e\u011fitimsiz ebeveynlerden \u00f6\u011frenilmi\u015f a\u015fa\u011f\u0131l\u0131k duygusunun eklenmesiyle s\u00f6z konusu ma\u011fduriyet \u00c7ingene \u00e7ocuklar i\u00e7in daha da derinle\u015fmektedir. \u0130ncelenen \u00e7ocuk romanlar\u0131ndaki \u00e7ocuklar taraf\u0131ndan olu\u015fturulan \u00c7ingene imgesinin ortak noktas\u0131 budur. Bu ama\u00e7la yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada, \u00e7ocuk romanlar\u0131nda \u00c7ingene \u00e7ocuk karakterlerin gerek ebeveynleriyle gerek \u00c7ingene olan\/olmayan akranlar\u0131yla ve yeti\u015fkinlerle olan ili\u015fkilerinde aile bireylerinden \u00f6\u011frendikleri ma\u011fduriyet dilini nas\u0131l yeniden \u00fcrettikleri, \u00c7ingenelik alg\u0131s\u0131na ve \u00c7ingene \u00e7ocuk olmaya nas\u0131l bakt\u0131klar\u0131 mercek alt\u0131na al\u0131nmaktad\u0131r. Bu romanlarda \u00c7ingene olan ve \u00c7ingene olmayan \u00e7ocuk karakterlerin kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 yoluyla \u00c7ingene \u00e7ocuklar\u0131n temsilinin anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131 da ama\u00e7lanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
